The Gold King Mine Ghost Town is a unique place, with acres of old rustic buildings and vintage rusted cars, including the landscape and scenery of Jerome. There are many different scenarios to create diverse and artistically captivating photographs. You will come away with a memorable experience and prize-winning images.

Wrapped in Plastic is not just a model covered in Saran-Wrap. It is an emerging from the shell, the struggle to escape, a rebirth. Our muse, Violet Pixie, will slowly push and claw her way out of the membrane, pull and rip from the cocoon, as she breaks free into the world. It is a visual, active piece of art taking place, while the photographers photograph the event live.
Along with the escape from the plastic casing, Violet will be modeling nude and semi-nude. Her expertise has given her a reputation of being a high-in-demand-model, not only in the Phoenix area, but nationwide. We are excited to offer Violet's diverse skills during this unique, live-art workshop.
All of those who sign up will have access to a variety of different angles in our studio, from high up on a ladder, to lying down on the floor, standing and/or sitting. The North-facing natural light that pours through the huge wall of windows is optimal for photography.
This is an excellent value: 3 full hours of photo opportunities with sought-after model, Violet Pixie, at Red Bench Photo Studio in the historic mining town of Jerome, AZ, for only $125 (Camera Club Members: $75.)
Whether you are a seasoned professional or a novice, our workshops are the place for you, even if you have no experience photographing people. We work as a group, respecting our individualized creativity. You are guaranteed prize-winning photos. Plus, we have a lot of fun during the time we spend together.
Space is limited, as we do not over-crowd our workshops, keeping the ratio of photographers to models at a minimum. We highly suggest you sign up today to reserve your spot for this workshop on February 23rd, as it will fill up quickly. Click HERE to guarantee your spot.
Every month we offer a different themed workshop, with professional models who specialize in the concept of the month. We promise a memorable experience and unforgettable images.

It only seems fitting to use the classroom as it was intended - as a classroom. Red Bench™ Studios will be hosting weekly art classes, beginning on January 3rd, 2019, taught by James Menzel-Joseph. Classes range from beginner to advanced, pencil sketching to oil, acrylic and watercolor painting. Our selection of skilled models offer a diversity of genres, including nudes, draped and posed with props.
Our studio is full of natural light, making it the perfect location for photography shoots. If you are just starting out and want to learn how to use your camera, or if you are a professional photographer with years of experience, or anywhere in between, we offer something for everyone.
At Red Bench, we have built a reputation over the past couple of years, hosting unique monthly workshops with international award-winning photographer/instructor, John T. Keehn. Our professional models are experienced, and offer a great deal of posing choices. The ratio of photographers:models is small, making the sessions personalized. We will be using the classroom as a photo-shoot setup, as well as other areas around the historic building and the old mining town of Jerome, AZ. You will come away with prize-winning photos.
Lighting, Beginner Camera and Advanced Photo classes are available, taught by skilled photographers, such as Karl F. Mullings, who has experience photographing celebrities.
Is modeling your goal? We will be hosting Modeling Basics classes too, taught by one of the most sought-after models in Phoenix, Violet Pixie. Learn the basics - makeup techniques, what to wear for your body type, beginner poses and how to prepare in advance for a modeling gig.
Classes and workshops are set up as Events on Facebook, where detailed information will be available, including how to sign up, what the fees are and what they include, and do not include.
So, if you are interested in art, modeling and/or photography, we are the place for you!

What is Red Bench™?
When asked of the owner recently in an interview: “Well, it’s a combination of things – it’s a photography studio, website design & social media marketing business, and the writing studio of Zushka Biros. But there’s more…”
Red Bench™ is the new kid on the block, appropriately for a former high school. "We're new here, but we're not new to the area, or to website design, social media marketing, modeling, photography and just about anything that feels good and works in creative expression in business."
My name is Sue Gregory and I am the owner of Red Bench™ Media, LLC. Eleven months ago I landed in Jerome, not quite sure what I was going to be creating. I rented a studio at the Jerome Art Center (the old Jerome High School) with the intent of using it as my office and writing studio. Red Bench™ Websites was open for business immediately.
Within days I noticed the natural light pouring through the large wall of windows. Making a short video of the nearly-empty classroom, including large blackboards on two of the walls, old hardwood floors and lots of space, I sent it to my photographers, whom I’ve been modeling for, for the past 4 years.
Almost immediately the photographers started coming up to the studio with their cameras. Weekly Photo Shoots were scheduled, and then the formation of monthly Photo Workshops emerged. So far, Red Bench™ has hosted 6 successful workshops, each one becoming more creative than the last and momentum is building. Photographers from all over the state have participated and there is now a waiting list of professional models. Photographers have booked the studio for private shoots with their models as well. Now the studio is full of props, including a stage and changing area, making it one of the most sought-after, unique, one-of-a-kind photo studios in the area.
This past summer, Red Bench™ Websites created the Jerome Art Center’s first ever website and social media. Blogs and posts have generated more foot-traffic through the buildings at the old high school, encouraging local support of its artists who occupy the spaces. “Artist of the Month” features one of the artists each month on the Jerome Art Center’s Home Page, and blogs emphasize what’s new, events and available rentals. We have put the Jerome Art Center on the map, so to speak.
The Jerome First Saturday Art Walk enlisted our talents during the springtime for promotional videos for Facebook. This is where the fun began. Each month statistics showed more and more people attending the Art Walk. When asked at our studio how people heard about the Art Walk, every one said “Facebook,” some mentioning the promo videos specifically, which brings me to another facet of Red Bench™. Keeping the studio open during the Art Walks, Red Bench™ became the social gathering spot for those visiting the Jerome Art Center. Free “Starving Artist Soup” and wine were offered to anyone stepping through the door, music played and a comfortable seating area on couches was made available, where conversations flowed into the evening.
The Jerome Indie Film & Music Festival hired our social media talents as well, and hosted a book signing event for Zushka Biros during the busiest day of the film fair. Being that Zushka’s writing studio is also located in the Red Bench™ studio, it made the book signing special, winding down her summer-long Book Signing Tour in Jerome.
What’s coming up this fall and winter at Red Bench™?
The studio will transform into a Photo Gallery (Red Bench™ Gallery) beginning with Karl Mullings of KFM Designs out of Flagstaff. Each month another photographer will be featured, along with an Art Opening during the First Saturday Art Walks, including food, wine and live music. The gallery is booked through the end of February with photographers from around the state, each one showing their specific style of photographs, matted and ready for sale.
Live music performances are in the works, as well as monthly Belly Dance and Kundalini Workshops and Modeling Classes. You can check out our calendar of events on redbenchwebsites.com, and redbenchphotography.weebly.com. Don’t forget to take a look at Zushka’s latest book, The Secret Butterfly Trail (as recently mentioned on NPR), and find her at one of her upcoming book signings at zushkabiros.com.
The space is available for events, meetings and classes. You can contact us at: email@example.com. I’m looking forward to meeting you all at the First Saturday Art Walk on October 7th! Come for a visit, or just stand back and watch us grow!
"In addition to our Red Bench Photography Studio, which features an abundance of natural light, we also know so many other photographically-rich places in Jerome that will help you, the photographer or artist, produce eye catching, engaging and hopefully prize winning images. This is what we have to offer." - Sue Gregory, Owner
Jerome is full of interesting buildings and locations for photo shoots. When you book your next studio rental, or sign up for one of our monthly workshops, ask us about the area. Our expert photographer can guide you to all the hidden gems of Jerome.
